Special Session Snow and Ice Data Book 2010
|
The first edition of the Snow and Ice Data Book was published at the XI International Winter Road Congress, which was held in Sapporo, Japan, in 2002, under the initiative of the Japanese Organizing Committee. Technical Committee B5 "Winter Service" developed the second edition, which was presented at the XII Congress in Turin, Italy, in 2006. In cooperation with the ministère des Transports du Québec, Committee B5 once again took advantage of the opportunity presented by the XIII International Winter Road Congress to release the third edition (2010 edition) of the Snow and Ice Data Book, which was included in the delegate kit.
This reference tool is intended to support and facilitate the exchange of experience between various international experts specializing in the field of winter service through cooperation between experts from the 25 countries included in this document.
Those attending at the Special Session Snow and Ice Data Book 2010, that took place on Thursday February 11, have heard a summary of the contents and an explanation of how the Databook is made. Also, a few writers from Canada-Québec, Japan, Morocco and Czech Republic presented an overview of climatic and operational realities where they live.
